When the Jewish community near Glen Echo Amusement Park joined the protest, a history-making interracial demonstration was born. The cause, and the collaboration, provoked counterprotests by the American Nazi party, and brought Congressmen and national leaders to the picket line. Picketing together led to partying together, union organizers mentored student activists, and ten 1961 Freedom Riders emerged, including Stokely Carmichael. With never-before-seen footage, and immersive storytelling by Emmy Award-winning director Ilana Trachtman, four living protesters rescue this untold story, revealing the price, and the power, of heeding the impulse to activism.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Trailblazing Black students, bold Jewish suburbanites, and a carousel: An untold story of the Civil Rights Movement","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51429822365943,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0275\/0939\/1493\/files\/EOUplaytrailer_3f20a900-74e8-4b3b-b66f-b5cb16ccf6d6.png?v=1793209945","url":"https:\/\/gooddocs.net\/products\/aint-no-back-to-a-merry-go-round","provider":"GOOD DOCS","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
