About Us

GOOD DOCS is an educational documentary distribution that shares a wide collection of films that do GOOD in the world. We support educators, students, librarians and communities.

Our award-winning collection engages and inspires students by featuring rarely heard stories about individuals and communities working towards a more equitable world. We champion creative expression and complex films that provoke critical thinking. GOOD DOCS represents established documentarians and passionate new filmmakers driven by their experiences as educators, academics, journalists, artists, social workers, community members, and activists. GOOD DOCS films and the GOOD TALKS speaker series offer powerful educational experiences to students and communities everywhere. You can check out our collection of films here. From time to time, we also offer free screenings as part of our impact projects to certain groups, which you can learn more about here

The company was founded by documentary filmmaker Sarah Feinbloom in 2013 and Sage Publishing acquired GOOD DOCS towards the end of 2024. Sage is an independent, mission-driven publishing company that passionately believes in disseminating knowledge to support education and research on a global stage, which in turn can develop healthy societies. Sage’s guaranteed independence allows it to realize this mission even more profoundly and enables it to take a long-term view: to help develop disciplines of study and research, to drive social change, build positive and lasting relationships to make this happen, and to experiment, innovate and invest in the future. There is a clear overlap in the missions of GOOD DOCS and Sage, and we couldn’t be happier with this union which will benefit our filmmakers and our communities of learning even more.
