For a long time, mainstream media has portrayed obsessive - compulsive disorder (OCD) as a quirky and funny personality trait associated with hand-washing or flipping light switches. In reality, OCD can look very different. There is a whole world of less visible, yet common forms of OCD that many sufferers are afraid to speak about.

AN UNQUIET MIND follows the stories of Natasha and Vinay, two individuals who struggle with Harm OCD, Post-Partum OCD, and Pedophilia OCD.

The misunderstandings around these “taboo” types of OCD have created a culture of shame. Through this film, we aim to build a movement of greater understanding and support for those living with this illness.

National Alliance on Mental Illness
"An Unquiet Mind" handles OCD with a rare and beautiful balance of empathy, compassion, and clinical insight. I left the theater feeling better equipped to walk alongside those who struggle — and with a deeper compassion for those who may be suffering in silence. This film is a gift."

"An Unquiet Mind" gets it right. Empathetic, clinically grounded, and deeply human — this film will change how you see OCD and the people living with it.

“Rarely does a film about mental health leave you both moved and better informed. "An Unquiet Mind" strikes a perfect balance of empathy and clinical insight — equipping audiences to support those who struggle with OCD and to recognize those who may be suffering in silence. Essential viewing.”

Houston OCD Support Community
"An Unquiet Mind gave me insight into others’ minds and mine; there wasn’t a theme or thought portrayed in the film that I haven’t had, making me feel seen, and yet audience members’ audible reactions made me realize not everyone struggles with intrusive thoughts, as social media suggests— that this is truly a disorder."

International OCD Foundation
"I can say unequivocally that this documentary is the one that we as a community have been desperately waiting for. I am at an absolute loss for words after watching this. The sound design brings out into the tension and discomfort of the first person accounts of OCD and brings you in to that vacuum of rumination. It is tender, non judgmental and a perfect depiction of OCD. It captures the pain, the suffering and the absolute resilience of this battle. This should be mandatory viewing for anyone unfamiliar with OCD. It is also a powerful and moving testimony for sufferers and clinicians alike"

"This documentary was a like a breath of fresh air; finally, someone has been brave and diligent enough to create a realistic, honest and raw portrayal of just how debilitating and serious OCD can be. There was so much that I could personally relate to and it was reassuring and comforting to know that I'm not alone. The documentary does a tremendous job at breaking down the stigma and sensationalism that's often incorrectly attached to OCD"
