Learn about Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and author of the influential memoir Night. Through archival footage, personal stories, hand-painted animation, and narration in Wiesel's own eloquent voice, Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire traces his journey from his childhood in Hungary, through his imprisonment in Auschwitz and Buchenwald, to his emergence as one of the world's leading voices for human rights. This documentary introduces students to the teenage survivor who transformed his experiences into a lifetime of writing, teaching, and advocacy.

Students will follow Wiesel's journey from his childhood in Hungary through his imprisonment in Nazi concentration camps and his later work as an writer, teacher, and global advocate for human rights. Best known for Night, Wiesel went on to write dozens of books, teach generations of students, and challenge people around the world to confront prejudice, injustice, and what he called "the sin of indifference".

Exploring themes of courage, resilience, memory, empathy, and moral responsibility, this powerful documentary helps students understand the lasting impact of the Holocaust and the importance of speaking out against injustice.
